In an exciting and educational event, 25 Truist Bank representatives, including local staff and team members from across the state, partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tar River Region to provide teens with valuable real-world financial skills through the Life Money and Choices program.

The event featured a hands-on financial simulation, where Club members learned essential budgeting techniques and how to manage their finances in a practical, engaging way.
With the help of Truist Bank’s team, including our own board member Keith Warren, the teens were able to put their financial skills to the test, making real-life decisions around budgeting for groceries, transportation, student loans, housing, and even exploring creative ways to generate additional streams of income.
Throughout the simulation, Club members were tasked with creating a monthly budget, making tough decisions about their spending, and prioritizing their financial needs. By the end of the session, the teens gained practical knowledge that will set them up for success in managing their finances, helping them understand the importance of smart financial decision-making in building a stable and successful future. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tar River Region is proud to offer such hands-on, impactful learning experiences for our youth.

We are deeply grateful for the continued support of Truist Bank and all of their representatives who made this event not only fun but also a life-changing experience for our members.
