NFL player and proud Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tar River Region (BGCTRR) alumnus Tyquan Lewis returned to his roots this week with a heartfelt visit to the LABB Clubhouse. Joined by his family — including his mother, a former BGCTRR staff member — Lewis toured the facility where he spent many of his formative years and offered words of encouragement to current Club members.
As he walked through the Club, Lewis took time to reflect on his childhood experiences and the role the organization played in his development. Most importantly, he shared a powerful message with current youth members about dreaming big and staying focused.










Lewis’s visit is part of a larger Tyquan Lewis Community Weekend, sponsored by the Town of Tarboro, and packed with free events designed to uplift and unite the community:
Friday, July 11 – 7v7 Showcase Game
Location: Tarboro High School
Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Saturday, July 12 – Community Day at Indian Lake
8:00 AM – Community Clean-Up
9:00–11:00 AM – Cars and Coffee
10:00 AM–4:00 PM – Community Day
Entry: Please bring one canned good or book

Activities will include bounce houses, a food and book drive, a live band, face painting, small amusement rides, food trucks, a silent auction, and more.
