We are thrilled to welcome Derek Anderson — NBA Champion, author, entrepreneur, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America Hall of Fame member — as the keynote speaker for our Annual Steak & Burger Fundraiser, taking place on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the beautiful Rose Hill Conference Center.
Derek is a proud former Club kid who overcame adversity to rise to the top of professional basketball, win an NBA Championship, and build a successful career beyond the court. His inspiring journey reflects everything we believe in — the power of perseverance, the importance of support, and the incredible potential that lives inside every young person we serve.
Check out this video to learn more about Derek and his journey.
What Makes Steak & Burger So Special?
Our Steak & Burger dinner is a tradition unlike any other. We invite our supporters to enjoy burgers while our Club members are served steak — a symbolic role reversal that puts our kids at the center of the evening. It’s a night full of great food, meaningful conversations, and powerful connections between our youth and the community that champions them.
All proceeds support the critical programs we provide in Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship, Healthy Lifestyles, and Life & Workforce Readiness across Nash and Edgecombe Counties.
