The Boys and Girls Club of the Tar River Region

What can you do for an organization that spends every single day giving all its attention to the next generation and guiding them towards success? It may not seem like much but being the ones to enjoy an event instead of hosting it themselves just might mean the world. That’s what Rocky Mount Toyota did for the Boys and Girls Club of the Tar River Region in the form of a Summer Cookout in their honor.

The Boys and Girls Club of the Tar River Region celebrated the 2022 Summer school high achievers! So to show our support and appreciation for all they do, our team at Rocky Mount Toyota organized a cookout for them. The cookout was held this past Tuesday, August 9th, at the Boys and Girls Club Rocky Mount location and saw several BAGC helpers, kids who the BAGC supports, and other community members come and enjoy great food and camaraderie.

In addition to an epic cookout, we also donated $10,000 to the club with Toyota matching our donation, resulting in $20k being donated in total! Our team members were generous enough to personally help our efforts by donating $5,800 in cash directly from their pockets. All this money will go towards the further development and support of the impoverished community of the Tar River Region. We do a lot with the Boys and Girls Club of the Tar River Region because we believe in their mission. All of us are from this area and the communities, so their work means a great deal to all of us. This is just a small gesture of our appreciation for all their hard work.

If you would like to donate or support the Boys and Girls Club of the Tar River Region, you can find more information about them and their future events at their website, bgctrr.org. They boast a 100% graduation rate and promote a healthy lifestyle with over 23,000 meals served to kids in need during the school year. Help us give back to our communities by supporting the Boys and Girls Club when their mission is needed the most.
