On October 13, 2022, our organization celebrated our youth at our Annual Steak & Burger event at Rose Hill Conference Center. Community leaders gathered and helped us celebrate over 30 of our club members and honor them for the great work they are doing.

As the evening began, we heard from club members during the program. Jaden, from the LABB Clubhouse, lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance, Le’Mya from the Edgecombe County Clubhouse, shared our Boys & Girls Club Code and Vivianna, from the Nashville Area Clubhouse, provided the invocation.

During the celebration, we made sure to elevate our club members. The adults had burgers while the club members enjoyed a steak. While enjoying their meal our club members shared their experiences such as school, what they enjoy and why they love to attend our clubhouses.

Our guests were able to view a special video from our investors explaining why they invest in our clubs. You can view the video below of community leaders, business owners and our board members.

BGCTRR Alumni Linesa Bynum and Jeremiah Pickett presented a duo performance. As Linesa sang, Jeremiah played his guitar.

The program proceeded with a message from our Youth of the Year, Princess Holmes and the keynote address from LeVelle Moton, Boys & Girls Club Alumni and North Carolina Central University head basketball coach.

After an inspirational message from our keynote, we honored a champion of our organization, Mayo Boddie Jr., with the Champion for Youth Award. Our Champion for Youth Award is one of the highest honors we provide to a supporter of our organization.

We thank our sponsors, contributors, volunteers, board members, staff, and community for celebrating at our fundraiser.
