It’s almost that time of year again when The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tar River Region release thousands of teeny tiny rubber turtles in the Tar River to race.
On July 29, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. the teeny tiny turtles will be dropped from the Peachtree Street Bridge at the gorgeous Rocky Mount Mills campus (don’t worry no actual turtles will be harmed during this event). This year we are excited to invite the community to the Rocky Mount Mills to share in the turtle drop experience. The first three turtles to cross the finish line will win cash prizes for their adopters.
This isn’t just a race with 2,000 rubber turtles trying to make it to the finish line, it’s a race where our most precious and vulnerable commodities: our children, our future, are trying to make it over the line in a race fraught with hurdles. This event is free and we would love to see our club members and their family and friends join us that morning.
